Iran slams attacks to innocent Afghan mourners

TEHRAN, Oct. 13 (MNA) – The Spokesperson of Iran’s Foreign Ministry, Bahram Ghasemi, condemned the two terrorists attacks of Tuesday to Muslim worshipers and mourners in Afghan cities of Balkh and Kabul.

“The murder of innocent mourners in Afghanistan demonstrates the terrorists’ and the terror-supporters’ endless hostility and animosity toward Muslim’s unity which leads them to organize such purposeful acts of terror to commit such horrific crimes,” said Bahram Ghasemi, the spokesman of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, late on Wednesday.

The comments came after the two fatal terror attacks to the mourners of Ashura anniversary in Afghan cities of Kabul and Balkh where at least 30 innocent mourners were killed on Tuesday.

Ghasemi reiterated that in addition to offering sympathies and condolences to the bereaved families, the Islamic Republic of Iran categorically condemned the deadly attacks.

The Iranian diplomat restated Iran’s call on all regional and international players to act responsibly and take serous and real counter-measures against terrorism.
