FM following Kuwait’s detention of Iranians: spokesman

TEHRAN, Oct. 07 (MNA) – Saying that no formal information has been submitted to Foreign Ministry about the detention of two Iranians in Kuwait, Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ghasemi added that the ministry is following up the case.

“I have heard the news about two Iranian citizens arrested in Kuwait but so far no formal affirmation have been made,” announced Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi on Friday.

The diplomat reassured that the Iranian Foreign Ministry and Iran’s embassy to Kuwait are examining the issue.

According to media reports, Kuwait's Interior Ministry issued a statement late on Thursday recounting the arrest of two Iranian men who were photographing religious halls, known as husseiniyahs, before attendants’ congregation ahead of a major religious ceremony.
