Iran, Russia urge humanitarian aid in Foua, Kafarya

TEHRAN, Sep. 14 (MNA) – FM deputy for Arab and African affairs has been in Russia to discuss latest developments in Syria with Putin’s special envoy to Middle East.

Mr. Hossein Jaberi Ansari and Mr. Mikhail Bogdanov addressed on Wednesday the possibilities of humanitarian aid in Syrian cities of Foua and Kafarya, along with their joint emphasis upon Syrian ceasefire and rejection of military solution to the crisis. Both sides shared the opinion that Syrian people were the sole eligible actors in deciding their own political future without intervention from outside. Jaberi Ansari and Bogdanov also discussed a host of other issues including Yemen, Iraq, Bahrain and Libya.

Iran and Russia had recently been displaying a good level of coordination in Syria against terrorists which culminated in Iran’s allowing Russian war planes flying off from Nojeh, an airbase near Hamedan to target ISIL and other terrorist strongholds.
