President Rouhani in his message released on Wednesday voiced hope for development and deepening of all-out ties between Tehran and Kabul at all levels.
Rouhani have expressed that "Iran and Afghanistan have lots of commonalties and potentials which must be used to maximize bilateral ties between the two neighboring nations."
The Iranian president also wished health, honor and tranquility for the Afghani people.
Afghan Independence Day is celebrated in Afghanistan to commemorate the Anglo-Afghan Treaty of 1919.The treaty granted a complete neutral relation between Afghanistan and Britain. Although Afghanistan was never part of the British Empire, the British fought three wars with Afghanistan.
