Rouhani's Eid al-Fitr message calls for 'Islamic unity'

TEHRAN, Jul. 06 (MNA) – Iran's Hassan Rouhani has addressed heads of Islamic countries in a message reconciliatory in tone.

President Rouhani congratulated heads of Islamic countries on Eid al-Fitr, with investing much hope that unity would embrace all Islamic countries; "time has come for Islamic countries to promote their ties of fraternal sympathy among fellow co-religionists, along with enduring peace and stability encompassing the Ummah," read the congratulatory message.

"Drawing upon sublime teachings of Islam, we, as heads of Muslim world, could provide an image of the religion free of violence, cruelty, and extremism usually associated with our religion. The same device should provide Islamic compassion for all including those who hated Islam based on the media propaganda," concluded the president.
