Iran’s Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani in today’s open session addressed the lawmakers following Foreign Minister Zarif’s report on the implementation process of the nuclear deal, saying “the US Congress is constantly making efforts to create a crack in the framework of regulations of the JCPOA, and we should be prepared to prevent any further excessive demands from the American side.”
“Evidence suggests they are getting encouraged to exert more pressure against other affairs of the Islamic Republic,” he warned.
Larijani referred to the adoption of the law that requires the government to take countermeasures in the face of unsavory moves by the West, saying “under this law, if the West exerts any pressure on other affairs of the Islamic Republic, Iran is required to take necessary measures against the move.”
“The JCPOA has become a law and our aim to adopt it was to create an appropriate atmosphere for investment and dynamic economy which requires an economic diplomacy,” Larijani said, adding Foreign Minister Zarif has made it his top priority to follow up on economic diplomacy.
Larijani further stressed that the domestic conditions must be calm and tranquil to attract foreign investment, and called on the Foreign Ministry to increase efforts to settle the current obstacles in Iran’s banking relations with other countries.
