Iran condemns Israeli cabinet meeting in Golan

TEHRAN, Apr. 19 (MNA) – Foreign Ministry Spokesman strongly denounced the holding of a meeting by Israeli cabinet in Golan on Sunday.

“Golan is considered an occupied territory which belongs to Syria and will be reclaimed soon or late by the Syrian government,” said Hossein Jaberi Ansari on Monday decrying the claims by Israeli regime on the region.

He called the act an obvious violation of international laws and urged the international community to confront the provocative and expansionist moves of Zionist regime in a grave manner.

Netanyahu, who chaired the meeting, said the Israeli-annexed Golan Heights would "forever" remain in his country's hands.

Israel seized parts of the Golan Heights from Syria in the Six-Day War of 1967 and later annexed it in a move which the international community has never recognised.
