NIOC, German oil giant ink deal

TEHRAN, Apr. 12 (MNA) – Deputy-oil minister has said NIOC has signed a deal with Germany’s largest oil company to explore western reservoirs.

Roknoddin Javadi, NIOC Managing Director and Deputy-Minister and Mario Mehren, Head of Wintershall GMBH met on Tuesday in Tehran, to draft and sign an MoU according to which the German oil giant would embark on its explorative and preliminary studies on Iran’s four oil reservoirs in western part of the country, beginning upcoming month.

Wintershall GMBH is an upstream oil and gas exploration company and is a subsidiary of BASF, one of the mammoth chemical industrial complexes on the planet. It was established in 1894 with headquarters located in Kassel, Germany.
