One finalist for Iran in Hungarian Grand Prix

TEHRAN, Feb. 06 (MNA) – Iran’s heavyweight 130-kg Greco-Roman wrestler succeeds to final round in the 2016 Hungarian Grand Prix.

The competitions are held for three days February 4-6 in Hungarian city of Szombathely and Iran has participated with only in two categories. On Saturday morning, Iran’s 130kg wrestler Bashir Babajanzadeh automatically succeeded to the next round since his Hungarian rival Balint Lam failed to come to the mat. In the second round, Babajanzadeh defeated Polish wrestler Lukas Banak 6-0 to reach to semifinals where he won Croatian Stjepan Lavric 3-0 to reach to finals where he will fight for gold medal with Meng Qiang of China, who is winner of Asian silver and bronze medalist of Asian Games.

In 85kg category, Davoud Abedinzadeh struck an off draw in the first round and in the second, he lost to Belorussian world bronze medalist Javid Hamzatov and will continue in losers group.
