Philippines, Iran hold joint Consular meeting

TEHRAN, Jan. 31 (MNA) – Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Hassan Ghashghavi announced the holding of sixth Joint Consular Consultation Meeting here on January 30-31.

Enjoying a positive post-sanction international space, Iran is fully prepared to help facilitate relations with the Philippines and provide the ground for closer ties in other areas, through the development of consular relations.

During the meeting attended by Philippines Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Rafael Segus and the eight-member board composed of representatives of different sectors, the two sides underlined the need to facilitate travel for citizens between the two countries by improving the conditions for visa issuenace which can expand tourism, trade, cultural exchanges and help deepen mutual understanding between the two nations.

The two sides also agreed to keep track of negotiations concluded during the previous meetings, including extradition, legal assistance in criminal cases and the transfer of convicts, more quickly and seriously.
