Ali Akbar Velayati made the remarks in a meeting with a group of Yemeni senior clerics. Expressing the concern of the Iranian nation and government over the destiny of Yemeni people, he said “Iran praises the resistance of Yemeni people against the tyranny of Saudis who, at the behest of the US and Zionists suppressed the Yemeni nation.”
“Saudi Arabia thought that the people of Yemen will surrender following a short period of bombard however after 9 months of war, they proved that they are qualified to be called heroes of the Arab and Muslim World.”, he added.
“The defeat of the Saudis was obvious from a long time ago and we are certain that they will fail in their military field as well”, Velayati underlined.
The Iranian official also added that the wisdom of Abdul-Malik Badreddin al-Houthi, leader of Yemen’s Justice Movement, is exemplary in the region and the Islamic world. The unity of the Yemeni people against the enemies is a sample of Islamic unity.” he added.
Velayati added that Saudi Arabia is unhappy with the incidents in Yemen and regional development, signs of which have appeared in the execution.
