Syrian army approaches Kweres air base, advances to Aleppo

DAMASCUS, Nov. 11 (MNA) –The anti terrorist offensive launched by the Syrian Army, in cooperation with militias of the People Defense Groups in Aleppo province, continue approaching to Kweres airport, after liberating Shiek Ahmad town.

Military spokespeople confirmed the destruction of facilities, command posts, armored vehicles, weapons, and ammunition that belonged to the terrorist groups operating in Shiek Ahmad, the last obstacle before approaching the air base, which has made resistance to the Takfirist siege for about two years.

Syrian Army's engineering units continue defusing dozens of improvised explosive devices which were planted by the armed extremists before leaving that strategic town, which along with Brawi, Aziza, Azizieh Samaan, and Tal Mamo, are zones free of terrorists.

Clashes were reported in Maaret Nouman, and Saraqeb zones, in Idleb province, 320 kilometers northeastern of this capital, with a total of scores of dead insurgents and a big part of their arsenal destroyed.

In Daraa province, located 103 kilometers south of this capital Army forces attacked positions of Al-Nusra Front militiamen, armed group of al-Qaeda in Syria, in the eastern part of Busra al-Sham city, and destroyed arms and ammunition warehouses in Daraa al-Balad.

Takfirist elements, who tried to break the government defense  in  Asliha, town were also killed.

For their part, joint Syrian and Russian air force units destroyed 448 terrorist groups' targets in the last 72 hours in Aleppo, Idleb, Latakia, Raqqa, Homs, Hama, and the surroundings of Damascus.
