Iran, Germany to deepen economic ties

TEHRAN, Nov. 04 (MNA) – At the meeting of Iran’s deputy economy minister with the Minister for Economic Affairs, Media, Energy and Technology of Germany's Bavaria State Ilse Aigner, the two sides emphasized deepening of bilateral economic relations.

Meeting at the Organization for Investment Economic and Technical Assistance of Iran, Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Mohammad Khazaei assessed the recent visits of official German delegations to Iran as a positive step towards development of economic relations emphasizing the expansion of ties between the two countries’ private sectors in trade and investment areas.

Khazaei referred to the positive view held by Iran’s government and private sector towards the German industry expressing Iran's readiness to support Germany’s investment in Iran by eliminating the existing obstacles.

Underling the importance of developing cooperation between the private sectors of the two countries, deputy economy minister proposed formation of a special committee for bilateral cooperation.

Ilse Aigner, for his part, praised the Iranian party’s willingness to expand bilateral economic cooperation as well as to provide new incentives for Germany’s private sector companies to invest in Iran.

Aigner has recently travelled to Iran at the head of a large economic delegation including heads of scientific and private sector companies of Germany.
