The police blocked yesterday, with water cannons, access by the demonstrators to avenues that lead to the area where the Parliament headquarters and other Government buildings are, said the newspaper Hurriyet Daily News.
Participants in the demonstration on the first of three days of national mourning, decreed by the Government after Saturday attacks at the railroad station in the capital, were shouting assassins to the president and the police.
During the protest at the square Sihhiye, the police prevented the withdrawal in advance of several deputies of the pro-Kurdish People's Democratic Party (HDP), which together with unions and left-wing organizations, coordinated the peaceful march on Saturday.
The HDP and at least three national guilds were demonstrating Saturday against the conflict between the Army and the Kurdistan Worker's Party, when two bombs exploded, just separated by seconds, at the railroad station area.
