Roknabadi in S. Arabia using regular passport: Afkham

TEHRAN, Sep. 28 (MNA) – Iran's Foreign Ministry spokeswoman has said that Iranian diplomat Ghazanfar Roknabadi has made his trip to Hajj using a regular passport and Saudi Arabia possesses detailed passport information of all pilgrims.

Deeming the remarks made by certain Arab media that the former Iranian ambassador to Lebanon Roknabadi traveled through non-official routes to Saudi Arabia under a fake name as hasty, Marzieh Afkham added that, “detailed information of all Iranian pilgrims including Roknabadi is currently available to Saudi authorities.”

“Ghazanfar Roknabadi’s passport is sealed with a Hajj visa and according to the received information, since he has gone missing like many other Iranians in Mina incident, his information has been handed to Saudi officials and all fabricated news about this Iranian diplomat are incorrect and all this propaganda serves other purposes,” explained Iran's Foreign Ministry spokeswoman.

Today morning, Saudi-affiliated media claimed that the Iranian diplomat Ghazanfar Roknabadi may have entered Saudi Arabia under unknown identity and his name does not appear on the list of this year’s pilgrims.
