Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for European and American Affairs Majid Takht-Ravanchi told the Iranian reporters in Berlin that Iran eyes Germany as a serious politico-economic partner.
The Iranian diplomat described Germany as an economic power not only in Europe but also in the world that has traditionally held ties with Iran in realms of economy, trade, and industry adding that the ties can even be developed further in the current stage.
As an axis of development of ties, Takht-Ravanchi referred to investment in and conveyance of technology to Iran. Iran has made considerable technologic and industrial progress in the course of the last years and it is not a mere importer of foreign products any more, the senior diplomat asserted.
The Iranian diplomat continued that it was known to many countries like Germany that Iran eyes technology and investment in bilateral ties with other nations and not just final finished goods.
He affirmed that joint manufacture of products benefited both countries as they could export the output in collaboration.
Iranian deputy foreign minister, who was also a senior member of Iran’s negotiating team in Vienna talks, hailed the Germans’ active role in political arena of the world and voiced satisfaction with constructive role of Germany in Iran-Sextet talks.
On his meeting with German Minister of Foreign Affairs Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Takht-Ravanchi said it was mostly about the upcoming travel of the German official to Iran but we also discussed regional issues like crises in Yemen, Iraq, and Syria and war on terrorism and extremism.
The Iranian diplomat assured that bilateral ties are based on reciprocal respect to the sovereignty of both sides, and the Islamic Republic does not permit any foreign state to keep upper-hand in ties.
Regarding Israel, Takht-Ravanchi reiterated that Iran does not recognize the Zionist regime as a state and keeps backing resistance of the nations of the region.
