Iran grabs first ever gold in grass skiing

TEHRAN, Aug. 08 (MNA) – Iranian athlete claimed the gold medal in the Grass Skiing World Cup in Dizin, Iran, on Friday.

Seyed Morteza Jafari clocked 51.09 in the giant slalom and Iran grabbed a gold medal for the first time in Iran's grass skiing history in a prestigious world cup.

Italian Eduardo Frau won the second title with 51.98 minutes, while Austrian grass skier Michael Stocker was put on the third place with 51.78 minutes in giant slalom category.

Earlier on Thursday, Jafari finished runner-up in the downhill winning a silver medal for Iran.

Held on August 6-7 in Dizin international ski resort, the event was attended by the best skiers from five countries.
