French, German ministers to visit Iran soon

TEHRAN, Jul. 15 (MNA) – French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius and German Economy Minister and Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel will visit Iran in near future.

"Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif invited me to visit Iran as the landmark deal on Iran’s nuclear program was clinched in Vienna on July 14," Fabius told French radio on July 15. Approving his trip to Tehran in near future, Fabius avoided specifying the date.

Meanwhile, Reuters news agency quoted industry and coalition source as saying that German Economy Minister and Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel is scheduled to fly to Iran on July 19.

Gabriel will head a high ranking delegation consisting of senior German businessmen in his visit to Iran to quickly tap the new trading opportunities from this week's historic nuclear deal between Tehran and 5+1, CNBC reported.

A spokeswoman for the ministry said there is a great interest on the side of German industry to normalize and strengthen economic ties with Iran.

Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zangeneh took a trip to Germany in May and met the German vice chancellor and heads of the important German energy corporations.

Austrian FM also told reporters on the sidelines of the joint press conference of Zarif and Mogherini, that his country is interested in developing ties with Iran in all areas.
