Iran Labour Min. to attend Intl. Labour Conf.

TEHRAN, Jun. 06 (MNA) – Iran’s Minister of Labour heading a delegation will depart for Geneva on June 8 to attend the 104th Session of the International Labour Conference.

Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare Ali Rabiei heading a delegation of workers, employers and government representatives will leave for Switzerland to attend the 104th Session of the International Labour Conference on 8-11 June, 2015.

According to the ILO Director-General Guy Ryder, the conference will cover issues on jobs, equity, sustainability, human security, labour mobility, and social dialogue.

The event which kicked off on June 1 brings together some 4,000 government, worker and employer representatives in Geneva.

In addition to the Director-General’s Future of work initiative, the Conference this year will discuss various other issues, including climate change, a proposed first ever international standard on the transition from the informal to the formal economy; the role of small and medium enterprises as a major job creation engine; and how to ensure labour protection.

Iran’s Minister of Labor who presides over the NAM countries will deliver a speech at the conference.

He is also scheduled to give a speech at the Asia-Pacific ministerial meeting and meet with his other counterparts.
