17th Intl. Storytelling Festival kicks off in Kermanshah

KERMANSHAH, Feb. 16 (MNA) – The 17th edition of Iran’s International storytelling Festival has kicked off today in Kermanshah.

Organized by Iran's Institute for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IIDCYA), the event is hosting many Iranian and international storytellers. 59 Iranian storytellers and 12 foreign participants are competing at various sections of this year’s festival including 31 main storytellers, 1 featured universal, 19 featured library storytellers, 8 featured Razavi Festival storytellers and 12 prominent foreign storytellers.

The participated international storytellers are from Colombia, Australia, the United States, Canada, Scotland, Philippines, Kenya, Brazil, Armenia, Lebanon, Syria and Morocco.

Ali Reza Hajian-Zadeh, the executive director of IIDCYA; Mahmoud Moravvej, the secretary of the 17th International Storytelling Festival and a number of other officials will provide the latest information about the programs intended to be performed in this event.

Among these programs are: honoring the promoters of the national and provincial storytelling in Iran, holding special storytelling workshops, unveiling the selected books of storytelling and so on.

Iran’s 2015 International storytelling Festival is programmed to be continued until February 19.
