Intl. selection board of 33rd Fajr filmfest. unveiled

TEHRAN, Jan. 26 (MNA) – The 33rd International Fajr Film Festival has been announced the names of the International Selection Board members.

Reza Dorostkar, Shadmehr Rastin, Morteza Razagh Karimi, Nima Abbaspour, and Saeid Nouri will select the films lining up at the Festival’s International Section.

Reza Dorostkar has long been active in the field of film review and analysis. He has received Golden Pen top prize in the 7th and 9th edition of Press Festival.

Shadmehr Rastin has won Fajr Festival’s Crystal Simorgh Award for Best Screenplay in 2008. He is the screenwriter of famous movies like Offside, As Simple as That, and This Woman Dpesn't Talk.

Morteza Razagh Karimi is Senior Adviser to CEO of Iran's Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC). His documentary Memories for All Seasons has received two grand prizes for Best Production at the fourth edition of Martyr Avini's Grand Prize and the 7th edition of the Iranian international festival for documentary films Cinéma Vérité.

Nima Abbaspour is a member of Board of Directors at Iranian Short Films Association, as well as a Founding member of Iranian Short Film Board Selection. He has directed 11 short, fiction, experimental and documentary films and is working at Film Monthly Magazine as a writer and critic since 2009.

Saeid Nouri has supervised various film workshops at several festivals. His short films The Patching and Suddenly the TV has won many awards at international festivals.

The Fajr International Film Festival, Iran's annual film festival, is held every February in Tehran, Iran. It takes place every year on the anniversary of the Iranian Revolution. It comprises 7 competition sections: Asian Cinema, Spiritual Cinema, international Competition, International Competition of Short Films, Iranian Cinema, Iranian short film, and Documentary Works.
