Cleric Tahir ul-Qadri and former popular cricket figure Imran Khan led tens of thousands of demonstrators protesting alleged fraud in last year election in the country.
On Saturday, Qadri told his supporters to continue protesting until they bring a ‘peaceful revolution.’ Meanwhile, Imran Khan’s supporters have camped out nearby in thousands. Both Khan and Qadri have vowed to bring 1 million followers into the streets of Islamabad.
Demonstrators say they will continue their protest will continue until PM Nawaz Sharif resigns, a demand Sharif has refused to accept.
Senior cabinet minister Ahsan Iqbal has urged the two opposition leaders to relax demands and show flexibility.
