Iran Khodro-Mercedes cooperation probable

TEHRAN, Dec. 1 (MNA) – Iran Khodro automakers managing director has said the company would probably cooperate with Mercedes Benz if sanctions are removed.

Mehr News quoted Hashem Yekkeh Zare talking to the press in the sidelines of International Festival of Automating Industry. “Iran as a huge market for automobiles has many attractions to foreign companies and Iran in turn want to boost its automobile production,” he added.

“During few days we will sign a new cooperation agreement with French automaker Peugeot, with focus on production of new generation of automobiles,” he asserted, and that “Peugeot and Renault are Iran’s old partners, and we are negotiating with a German automaker company.”

Yekkeh Zare also said that with the removal of sanctions the company will begin cooperation with Mercedes Benz. “Improving production level in the second half of the current year (ending in March 2014) will be on the agenda and we work for an innovative start in automobile production,” he said.

He also predicted the production and marketing of Dena in next June, saying that its price would be announced later in next year.
