Several killed, wounded after car bomb hits Syria’s Hama

TEHRAN, Oct. 20 (MNA) – A car bomb hit the government-held city of Hama in Syria on Sunday, causing a number of casualties, state television reported.

A terrorist car bomb explosion went off near an agricultural vehicle company on the edge of Hama city, several people were killed or wounded.

Pro-opposition group the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also reported the explosion.

A violent explosion shook the Sinaa highway in Hama city moments ago, followed by intense gunfire.

The group also said that according to initial reports the blast targeted a checkpoint controlled by regime troops near an agriculture vehicle company.

Hama has been under a tight grip of government forces since the city saw the largest demonstrations against President Bashar al-Assad’s rule in 2011.
