“The Iranian government will never accept reparations from Libya to close the Sadr case,” Mansuri told the Mehr News Agency.
The official stressed that Iran is trying to discover the truth about Sadr’s fate and wants to see the culprits punished.
Meanwhile, the lawyer of the Sadr family also announced on Monday that neither the Sadr family nor Iran had entered discussions with Qadhafi to make a deal on the Sadr case.
He also rejected reports from Libya claiming that Qadhafi had paid reparations to Iran.
The lawyer stated that the Libyan news broadcast was part of the country’s disinformation campaign.
Those who seek freedom and justice know that Qadhafi cannot continue hiding behind a smokescreen and will be forced to stand accountable to Sadr’s family and followers and to the Iranian government, he added.
A Moroccan official recently said that the Libyan leader had proposed paying reparations to Iran in order to close the Imam Musa Sadr case.
A Lebanese official also recently announced that Musa Sadr had been seen alive in the early 1990s.
Imam Musa Sadr, the founder of the Amal movement in Lebanon, mysteriously disappeared during a visit to Libya in 1978.
