A number of hot springs in Kurdistan Province draw great number of people to the region every year.
The regions most popular is the hot spring of Baba Gargar in a village 18km from Qorveh. The water with its high carbonic gas content has several healing benefits. Dyspepsia, rickets, osteitis are among the diseases which patients claim to be healed by the hot spring.
According to the head of the Provincial Tourism Department, over 20,000 people from Qorveh, Hamedan and Kermanshah come to this hot spring every year.
Guaz hot spring 50km from Kamyaran near Guaz Village is another popular hot spring in the region. There are also several other hot springs near the village which are called “Haniva” by the locals.
The water of Guaz hot spring tastes like sulfur and it has a milky color, its waters, doctors believe, are good for the skin, the bones, and respiratory disorders.
The Pir-e Saleh hot spring with its bitter tasting water in Qeshlaqlu Village near Bijar is considered beneficial to those suffering from rheumatism.
The hot springs of Sarab, Qamchaqay, and Khavarabad in Bijar, as well as Sarab and Vinsar in Qorveh are other hot springs in the region.
