Ambassador Mohammad Khazii made the remarks during a speech at a meeting of the UN Security Council on illicit cross-border trafficking on Wednesday.
In his speech, Khazaii stated that the Zionist regime has been making false allegations against the Islamic Republic over its peaceful nuclear program with the aim of diverting attention from its covert efforts to expand its nuclear arsenal.
The large nuclear arsenal possessed by the Zionist regime poses a serious threat to the region and the entire world, he added.
Khazaii went on to say that the false allegations leveled by Israel against Iran are psychological operations.
The Iranian ambassador also stated that all countries should pool their efforts to combat terrorism, organized crimes, drug trafficking, and other crimes.
Iran has made every effort to help step up such campaigns, he said.
