The students made the decision after Mostafa Ahmadi-Roshan, a graduate of Sharif University of Technology in chemical engineering and an official at the Natanz nuclear enrichment facility, was assassinated in Tehran on January 11.
Most of these students, who are studying electricity, computer, and chemistry, are from the universities of Sharif, Amir Kabir, Khajeh Nasir Toosi, and Shiraz.
About 300 students at Sharif university have also applied to change their majors to those concerned with nuclear studies, according to Reza Rosta-Azad, the university’s president.
Their applications are being processed, he stated.
Rosta-Azad also said that a large number of students at other universities across the country have lodged applications in this regard.
According to the Mehr, even students majoring in social sciences, Persian literature, law, and theology have applied to cooperate with the AEOI along with students pursuing technical majors.
Names of a number of seminary students can also be seen on the list.
In addition, male students who have submitted their applications to either change their majors or voluntarily cooperate with the AEOI slightly outnumber female students.
