Leader says Iran will not condone assassination of its academic

TEHRAN, Jan. 14 (MNA) – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has said that Iran will never condone the assassination of its academic and will bring the perpetrators of the crime to justice.

The Leader made the remarks in a message issued on January 12, in which he offered his condolences over the martyrdom of Mostafa Ahmadi-Roshan, a graduate of Sharif University of Technology in chemical engineering and an official at the Natanz nuclear enrichment facility, who was assassinated in Tehran on January 11.

Following are excerpts of Ayatollah Khamenei’s message:

The cowardly assassination, whose perpetrators and masterminds will never dare to admit to their despicable and vicious crime and claim responsibility for it, like other crimes by the international network of state terrorism, was masterminded or backed by the CIA and Mossad agencies and indicated the fact that the global arrogance (forces of imperialism), spearheaded by the United States and Zionism, have reached an impasse in the face of the determined, faithful, and developing nation of Islamic Iran.

The adoption of such appalling and nefarious behavior will make them suffer defeat once again, and they will not achieve their vicious and evil goals.

The steady scientific progress and the surmounting of the peaks of knowledge, which have been realized through the efforts and resolve of faithful and brave youth like Martyr Mostafa, is not limited to a single person, and is a historic movement arising from a national indomitable will.

We will follow this path with full strength… and will make those who committed the crime and those who are behind the scenes get their just deserts.
