Iran crowned Asian Archery Champion

TEHRAN, Oct. 23 (MNA) -- Iran claimed the title of 17th Asian Archery Championships in Tehran, Iran on Sunday.

Iran won the championship, seizing three gold and two silver medals.

South Korea came second with two gold, two silver and two bronze medals. Malaysia finished in third place with two gold and two silver medals.


Iran’s Reza Zamaninejad claimed a gold medal in the men’s individual compound after beating Zaki Mahazan Muhammad from Malaysia. Maryam Ranjbar also won a gold medal for Iran after defeating South Korean Jeong Lee Hyun in the women’s individual compound. Iran’s compound men’s team claimed the gold medal as well. 
 
Zahra Dehghan claimed a sliver medal in the women’s individual recurve after she lost to Nien-Hsiu Yang from Taiwan. Iran’s compound mixed team also won the silver after losing to South Korea.
 
The Asian Archery Championship brought 22 countries together.
