Paykan defeated Saipa 3-1 (25-19, 15-24, 25-18,26-25) in Tehran’s Khaneye Volleyball Hall and won the championship.
“The game was of a high level quality. Two teams showed a good performance in the final. Saipa made life difficult for us and I congratulate them because of their good performance. From now, we have to concentrate on Asian clubs,” Paykan coach Peyman Akbari said in the post-match news conference.
Paykan will represent Iran in the 2011 Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship which will be held in Palembang, South Sumatra, Indonesia from July 23–31.
