22 Historic Monuments of Bam Damaged Seriously

TEHRAN Jan. 3 (Mehr News Agency) -- The Head of Kerman Cultural Heritage Organization Fakur Pas confirmed that the Pirmah Shah Fort datable to the Sassanid Era in Fazlabad Village and the historic Shah Khorshid edifice dating from the 14th century in the Rigan region of Bam are the only two monuments that were not damaged in the earthquake.

The National Cultural Heritage Organization Information Department stated that the Bam Citadel, Mirza Ibrahim’s mausoleum from the Safavid-Zand era, the Ansari House, the Naderi House, the Sistani House, with plaster decorations and architecture from the Zand period, and the Rahimabad Kushk from the Seljuq Ilkhanid period were seriously damaged in the earthquake, some having been completely destroyed.
