Iranian, Indonesian speakers urge aid to Palestinians

TEHRAN, Sept. 23 (MNA) – Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani and his Indonesian counterpart, Agung Laksono, in telephone conversation on Tuesday stressed the necessity of sending humanitarian aid to the occupied territories of Palestine.

Larijani said the situation has exacerbated in the Gaza Strip as the Zionist regime prevents aid to reach Palestinians.

“These pressures show the veracity of resistance… in such circumstances, sending humanitarian aid and politically supporting the Palestinians are urgent.”

Larijani pointed to the internal problems of Israel and said, “The efforts of the Zionist regime against the oppressed Palestinian people indicate the internal crisis within this regime has been aggravated.”

Laksono said he supports Larijani’s efforts in defending the cause of Palestinians.

“As a great Islamic country, Iran plays an important role in defending the Palestinian nation,” he said.

“Indonesia backs dispatching humanitarian aid and political support of the Palestinian nation by the Islamic countries.”
