According to the ITRC public relations office, Hamdoon Toure the Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union will take part in the three-day event.
Iran’s Minister of Communication and Information Technology Mohammad Soleimani and the Minister of Science, Research, and Technology Mohammad Mehdi Zahedi are also to attend the symposium.
Over 500 articles from domestic and foreign experts have already been sent to this symposium.
---------------Mottaki calls for Iran-Africa economic cooperation
TEHRAN - Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki on Wednesday called for making use of potentials of both Iran and the African nations for economic cooperation.
He made the remarks in a meeting with the outgoing Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to Tehran, Ms Alari Kole, IRNA reported.
The foreign minister stressed that a new chapter has opened in Iran-Africa bilateral cooperation.
He said that the prospect of cooperation between Iran and the African nations is bright.
The outgoing Sierra Leonean envoy, said that her country is strongly determined to boost ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
She called for further activities of Iranian companies in Sierra Leone.
-----------------Iran-Malaysia joint venture on housing
TEHRAN - The biggest Iran and Malaysia joint venture in the field of housing is underway in Ekbatan township in west of Tehran.
Neguin Group Sdn is the Malaysian representative for this project, IRNA reported.
It is estimated that the value of the joint venture will stand at $400 million.
Ramin Ahmadi termed the project as the biggest trade, cultural compound across Tehran, adding the project covers an area of 19 hectares of which 160,000 square meters will go under construction.
He said the project has been inked between Tehran Municipality and Neguin Group Sdn. Bhd three years ago.
-----------------Iran’s 2007 GDP growth rate 6.9%
TEHRAN - The Central Bank of Iran has released early estimates based on which the GDP growth rate was recorded at 6.9 percent last Iranian year.
Based on the report, the country’s seasonally adjusted real GDP (gross domestic product) in base year prices of 1376 (1997) increased to $50.30 billion last Iranian year (ended March 19) from $47.06 billion the previous year, Press TV reported.
The GDP growth rate was 6.9 percent last year compared to 6.2 percent the year before.
The CBI report says the rise is largely due to an increase in value added in certain sectors including agriculture, housing construction, transportation, warehousing and communication, as well as social and household services.
