Heidari wins medal at Kyoto cartoon exhibit

TEHRAN, June 29 (MNA) -- Iranian cartoonist Shahrokh Heidari won bronze medal at the 8th Kyoto International Cartoon Exhibition running from June 1 to July 6, 2008.

The Gold Prize went to Martin Honeysett from England, and Ashmarin Stanislav from Russia won the Silver Prize.

 

This year’s exhibit focuses on the global warming with the motto “There is no time left!! We must obey the Kyoto Protocol to halt Global Warming.”

 

 

EDFC to review French doc “Humain, trop Humain”

 

TEHRAN -- The Experimental and Documentary Film Center (EDFC) will be screening the documentary “Humain, trop Humain” by French filmmaker Louis Malle on June 30.

 

Writer and critic Mehdi Arjomand will also review the movie at the venue which is located on Shahid Qandi St., Seyyed Khandan neighborhood.

 

Malle comes from a rare breed of French filmmakers who achieved a reputation as a great director not just in his native France but in the world, and was not afraid to embrace a wide range of subjects, some notoriously controversial.
