Iran’s Non-oil Exports Reach $3.4b

TEHRAN Nov. 2 (Mehr News Agency) – During the past seven months of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2003), non-oil exports exceeded $3 billion, showing 22 percent increase compared with the corresponding period last year.

According to a report released by Public Relations Department of Iran’s Customs Office, the amount included suitcase trade, which brought some $27.8 million of the total income.

 

It rose to 8.2 million tons of weight, 4.4 percent higher than the corresponding volume last year.

 

During the said period, each ton of exported goods valued at 368 dollars.

 

Except suitcase trade, non-oil exports corroborated 19.7 percent growth this year, comprising $3.04 billion of the whole value, the report added.

 

The chief exported commodities include pistachios, hand-woven carpets, gas products, pre-built aluminum, industrial products, irons, textiles, and different types of benzene.
