Foreign ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei announced the upcoming visit, saying it comes within the framework of Iran's continuous consultations with the Iraqi government and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq to expand bilateral relations and strengthen peace and stability in the region.
Baghaei said Talabani is scheduled to meet senior Iranian officials during the visit to discuss issues of mutual interest, including economic cooperation and border security.
