Australia warns war on Iran will hit global economy

TEHRAN, Apr. 12 (MNA) – Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong warned that resuming the war against Iran will further impact the global economy.

According to a report by Al Jazeera, Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong called on the United States and Iran to maintain the ceasefire and resume negotiations.

Wong said in a statement published by Australian media that it is disappointing that the Islamabad Talks between the United States and Iran ended without an agreement.

The priority now must be to continue the ceasefire and return to negotiations. We continue to seek a swift resolution to this conflict, she said.

She warned that any escalation of the conflict would impose even greater human costs and further impact the global economy.
