President Pezeshkian identified Israeli attacks against Lebanon as the primary source of tension, asserting that the killing of hundreds of innocent people and strikes on civilian sites, including a nursery, are clear examples of war crimes.
He emphasized the necessity of pressuring the Israeli regime and the United States to stop these attacks.
The President further stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran has never sought tension or war and has always emphasized resolving issues through dialogue based on international law. However, he clarified that Iran will not hesitate to defend its legitimate rights and territorial integrity.
He described the country’s missile capabilities as a defensive tool against aggression and criticized the inaction of international organizations, such as the UN and the EU, regarding illegal attacks against Iran and the brutal actions of the Israeli regime in the region.
Recalling previous U.S. breaches of commitment and the history of crimes committed against the Iranian nation, President Pezeshkian noted that while Iran has entered the Islamabad negotiations with diligence and seriousness, success depends entirely on the approach of the opposing party.
President Macron stated that France has condemned the war since the first day and continues to support a ceasefire and the cessation of attacks on Lebanon.
Expressing hope for progress in the Islamabad negotiations, Macron announced Paris’s readiness to help establish peace and stability in the region. The two leaders agreed to continue their diplomatic consultations.
