Iran, Germany FMs confer on latest war developments in region

TEHRAN, Apr. 11 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his German counterpart Johann Wadephul held a telephone call late on Friday to discuss the latest developments in the region following the US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran.

During the phone call, the top Iranian diplomat explained about the latest developments in the region following the US and Zionist military aggression against Iran, emphasizing that all countries should take a responsible stance in line with safeguarding the international law and the principles of the United Nations Charter.

Recalling the US repeated breaches of commitments and the heinous crimes committed during the two imposed wars against Iran over the past year, Araghchi considered the Islamic Republic of Iran's decision to accept a ceasefire as a basis for achieving a complete end to the war, compensating for the damages inflicted on Iran, and holding the aggressors accountable 'as a very responsible action that needs to be respected by all parties'.

Throwing weight behind ceasing war waged by US and Israel against Iran, the German foreign minister, for his part, emphasized the need to stop Israeli attacks on Lebanon and expressed hope that the upcoming negotiations would lead to the return of peace and stability to the region.
