Head of the Iran-Afghanistan Joint Chamber of Commerce, Mahmoud Siyadat, said normal foreign trade procedures remain in place along Iran’s eastern borders with Afghanistan and Pakistan.
He stated that Afghan authorities have arranged for Iranian trucks to enter Afghanistan without visas and without paying entry fees.
According to the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture, Iran and Afghanistan have historically maintained economic exchanges regardless of security and political developments.
He added that, given Afghanistan’s supportive positions toward Iran, broader opportunities now exist to expand bilateral economic relations.
Referring to military tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan, he said both countries now view Iran more closely as a transit route and as a source for meeting goods demand.
