Iran strikes Negev chemical site, leak fears rise

TEHRAN, Mar. 29 (MNA) – Iran launched three missile salvos in less than half an hour, targeting Dimona, Beersheba, and areas in Greater Tel Aviv in Israeli-occupied Palestinian lands, according to local media reports on Sunday.

Israel’s Channel 12 reported that “Iran bombed an important factory in the Negev region,” after a missile struck an industrial site in Beersheba.
Israeli radio later confirmed that the targeted site was a chemical plant containing hazardous materials, while subsequent reports indicated that authorities imposed a security cordon around the facility and began evacuating nearby residents as a precautionary measure.
Israeli ambulance services reported at least one injury resulting from the strike, though details on the extent of damage remain unclear.
Meanwhile, Israeli firefighting teams were deployed to control fires that broke out at the site following the direct hit.
At the same time, sirens were activated across wide areas, including Tel Aviv, Quds, Dimona, and Beersheba, as Israeli authorities confirmed the detection of multiple missile launches from Iran.
Israeli authorities warned of the potential consequences of the strike, with the Home Front Command stating that a “serious attack on a factory in the Negev” could result in a chemical leak.
