Iran, Iraq military officials discuss bolstering cooperation

TEHRAN, Jan. 08 (MNA) – Iranian Military Attaché to Iraq Major General Majid Gholipour and Iraq’s National Security Advisor, Qasim al-Araji, held a meeting to discuss boosting security cooperation.

The Iranian Military Attaché to Iraq, Major General Majid Gholipour, and Iraq’s National Security Advisor, Qasim al-Araji, have discussed continued cooperation on border control, combating smuggling, and ensuring regional security and stability.

Major General Gholipour met with Al-Araji in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, on Wednesday, as reported by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) from the National Security Advisor’s media office.

During the meeting, Al-Araji discussed with the Iranian Military Attaché strategies to enhance cooperation on border control, combat smuggling, and maintain regional security and stability.

The statement also highlighted the two countries’ efforts to develop military and security cooperation in areas such as military studies, research, and the exchange of information and expertise.
