Israel starts launching airstrikes on Gaza (+VIDEO)

TEHRAN, Oct. 19 (MNA) – The Zionist regime launched airstrikes on Gaza Strip on Sunday in violation of ceasefire agreement.

Zionist media is reporting that the Israeli military is carrying out attacks in Rafah and elsewhere in southern Gaza, Aljazeera reports.

Israeli broadcaster Channel 12 is reporting that a phone call on the situation was taking place between Netanyahu and Defence Minister Israel Katz along with members of the army.

Israel’s public broadcaster said the strike followed an “exchange of fire” with Hamas members.

The Israeli media claimed the regime has launched the attacks in response to terror operatives in the southern Gaza’s Rafah.

Israeli media also reported that two soldiers killed in military vehicle explosion in Rafah.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Palestinian Resistance movement Hamas strongly rejected allegations made by the US State Department accusing it of preparing an “imminent attack” and violating the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.

Hamas said the US remarks “completely overlap with the Israeli occupation’s disinformation and provide political cover for its ongoing organized crimes and aggression against our people.”

The movement emphasized that “facts on the ground prove the exact opposite,” accusing the Israeli occupation of forming, arming, and funding criminal gangs responsible for killings, kidnappings, looting aid trucks, and robbing Palestinian civilians.

Hamas said the occupation itself had “openly admitted to these crimes through media reports and recorded footage,” confirming its involvement in spreading chaos and undermining security.

Hamas stressed that Gaza’s police forces, supported by community efforts, are carrying out their national duty “to pursue and prosecute these gangs through clear legal mechanisms, in order to protect citizens and safeguard public and private property.”

The movement called on the US administration to “stop echoing the occupation’s deceptive narrative” and instead focus on restraining the Israeli regime’s repeated violations of the ceasefire agreement, chief among them, the support and protection it provides to those same armed groups within areas under its control.

Hamas concluded its statement by reaffirming its commitment to maintaining security and protecting the Palestinian people against organized aggression and internal destabilization efforts.
