Miguel Díaz-Canel, the President of the Republic of Cuba and Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Affairs went to the residence of the Iranian ambassador in Havana, the capital of Cuba and expressed their condolences on the tragic loss of the late Iranian president and the accompanying delegation in the helicopter crash.
Speaking at the residence of the Iranian ambassador in Havana, the President of Cuba said that the ruling party, the government, and the people of Cuba expressed their regret for the loss of a great friend and politician who was respected and liked by his people.
Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, also expressed the solidarity and support of Havana with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
President Raeisi was returning from a ceremony to inaugurate a dam on Iran’s border with Azerbaijan on Sunday when his helicopter crashed in Varzaqan, northwestern Iran, on Sunday.
Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and a number of senior East Azarbaijan provincial officials were also on board the helicopter that crashed, killing all onboard.
