Iranian president, Pakistani PM stress expanding ties

TEHRAN, Mar. 05 (MNA) – Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a phone conversation to discuss developing the bilateral relations between the two countries.

During the phone call, Raeisi offered felicitations to Sharif again upon his election as the new prime minister of Pakistan.

The Iranian president expressed hope that in the light of deep historical and cultural ties, the two countries will work harder to strengthen and expand cooperation in order to achieve the desired level of relations.

"Within the framework of its permanent policy, the Islamic Republic of Iran is fully prepared to strengthen and deepen all aspects of bilateral relations with the brother and neighboring country of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan," he stressed.

Raeisi also wished success for the new Pakistani government and also prosperity and well-being for the noble nation of Pakistan.

Sharif, for his part, expressed hope that the bilateral relations between Tehran and Islamabad will enhance in all aspects with the joint efforts of the officials of the two countries' governments.

Relying on the deep bonds of friendship between the people of Iran and Pakistan, the two countries can take effective steps in utilizing their diverse capacities to secure mutual benefits, the prime minister of Pakistan stressed.
