Iranian powerlifters win two more medals at Fazza Dubai 2024

TEHRAN, Mar. 04 (MNA) – Iran’s Aliakbar Gharibshahi and Hamed Solhipour claimed a gold and a silver medal, respectively at the 13th Fazza Dubai 2024 ParaPowerlifting World Cup.

Gharibshahi finished in the first place in the men’s up to 107kg with a lift of 250kg. Mongolia’s Sodnompiljee Enkhbayar and Uzbekistan’s Ilkhom Khalimov won silver and bronze medal with 240kg and 221kg, respectively, Tehran Times reported. 

Also, Solhipour came second by lifting 221 in the men’s up to 97kg.

Chinese powerlifter Jixiong Ye seized the gold medal with 241kg and bronze medal went to Uzbekistan’s Farhod Umirzakov with 217kg.

Iran’s Mohsen Bakhtiar in up to 59kg and Ahmad Aminzadeh in over 107kg had already won two gold medals.

Fazza 13th Para Powerlifting 2024 World Cup serves as qualification for the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris.

The championships, which started on Wednesday, are being held in Dubai, the UAE until Mar. 6.
