According to Pakistan Samaa, Pakistan's Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani made a phone call to Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on Friday.
According to the local Pakistani media, Pakistan's foreign minister told his Iranian counterpart in this telephone conversation that the security of his country is a"red line" for Islamabad.
The Pakistani Foreign Minister also emphasized the need to restore diplomatic relations between the two neighboring countries.
Later in the telephone consultation, Jalil Abbas Jilani emphasized the need for greater cooperation between Tehran and Islamabad in the field of security issues.
He further announced his country's readiness to cooperate with Iran in all matters based on mutual trust and cooperation.
Hossein Amir-Abdullahian, who was responding to the call from his Pakistani counterpart, for his part said that Pakistan has an important position in the foreign policy and the neighborhood policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and said, "It is appropriate to focus on security and military cooperation, which was agreed upon and emphasized by the officials of the two countries in the past."
Amir-Abdollahian stated that Iran's security forces in their operational bases will confront any terrorist operations at the very beginning of their terrorist actions, and said that these forces do not allow terrorists to carry out their terrorist operations.
Referring to the recent anti-terrorist operation of the Iranian armed forces against the Jaish al-Adl terror group, which has claimed responsibility for many terrorist operations, including the recent attack on the Rask police station, the Iranian Foreign Minister emphasized, "This operational action is in line with the immediate duties of the operational headquarters in the Sistan and Balochistan and in order to neutralize the terrorist threat, according to the evidence and documentation, more than fifty terrorists were preparing to carry out a terrorist attack against Iran in that site [inside Pakistan], which failed due to the timely action of the Iranian forces."
He reiterated Iran's full support and respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Pakistan.
The top Iranian diplomat further stressed the need for maintaining Islamic unity amid the Zionist Israeli regime's crimes in Gaza.
