The ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Portugal Majid Tafreshi expressed satisfaction with the unveiling of the book in Portuguese and considered the theme of this book to be the subject of resistance.
He said that many nations such as the people of Algeria, Cuba, and South Africa have reached their goals by resisting. As the memoirs of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei show, the Iranian Revolution won in the shadow of resistance, he continued.
The Palestinian ambassador in Lisbon pointed to the role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in supporting the resistance of the Palestinian people and said he remembers the time when they were protesting in Washington in 1979. He added that at that time, Ayatollah Khomeini decided to reopen the Palestinian embassy in Tehran in the presence of Yasser Arafat. "That event was the biggest change. It was really an important issue for Palestinians and people in South Africa. I was in Washington at that time when I joined the demonstration for the people of South Africa in Washington."
Touching upon the situation in Gaza, he called for the resistance of the international community against the coercion of the great powers.
"What is happening to the Palestinian people today is understandable for us Africans," the South African envoy said, adding that the concept of resistance is very important for her nation. "Victory is certain for the Palestinian people. You saw that our country won after Mandela was released from prison. As mentioned in the book of Ayatollah Khamenei, the Iranian revolution won after many sufferings and resistance of the Iranian people. So victory is certain as a result of resistance."
The Algerian ambassador in Lisbon also referred to the history of resistance of the Algerian people and said, "Our country was occupied from 1830 to 1962 and offered more than one and a half million martyrs. We understand the Palestinian situation very well and our young generation in Algeria has grown up in the cultural atmosphere of resistance and we believe that Palestine is victorious."
Referring to her nation's history of resistance, the Cuban ambassador said that they are active at the international level and defend Palestine and its cause. "So finally, I will tell you that in the end, resistance is a definite victory."
Vice president of the Islamic Revolution Research and Cultural Institute Mohammad Akhgari said that the book shows the history of the Iranian people's resistance to achieve victory. "Today, after fifty years, we are still witnessing the killing of Palestinians, and resistance, the main concept of this book, is the key to the victory of Palestinians."
