Iran, Syria ink three MOUs

TEHRAN, Sept. 17 (MNA) – Iran’s Markazi (Central) Province and Syrian provinces of Aleppo, Rif and Homs, have signed three memoranda of understanding on economic and business cooperation between the two countries, said the governor general of Markazi Province, Abdullah Sohrabi here on Sunday.

The agreements were signed during a visit of the Iranian delegation to Syria.

 

“A Syrian delegation comprising of one-hundred merchants will pay a visit to Markazi Province in a near future to investigate possibilities for developing bilateral relations,” he said.

 

“During their week-long visit to Syria, the Iranians trade, economic and industrial delegation exhibited the industrial and agricultural capabilities of the province and held bilateral talks with the Syrian officials.”

 

In a meeting with the Syrian Prime Minister Muhammad Naji al-Utri, Sohrabi negotiated promotion of mutual cooperation. “Due to its capacities and capabilities, Markazi Province enjoys the proper ground for developing ties with the regional countries and can cater for their needs.”

 

In conclusion, he said that the inauguration of Arak International Airport can play a crucial role in the promotion of exports.
